2015 Chrysler 200
2015 Chrysler 200 Review
For Sale @ Unique Chrysler Burlington (Located between Oakville & Hamilton)
Just the briefest look at the 2015 Chrysler 200 shows it's an all-new car. It looks surprisingly good for a midsize and we like it, a lot! The Italian influence is clear in the fluid lines, strong shape and confident grace and the brand is better for it.
On the outside, the new 200 has a smaller upper grille and larger lower grille. It also has angled LED headlights that remind us a bit of Audi or Citroen, with a rear cluster that definitely has an Audi-esque about it. Between the two are clean lines, and a fluidic profile that looks really good.
The changes are obvious on the interior too. The materials are vastly improved, the finishing quality is better, the ergonomics are better, the dashboard shape and finish is far superior and the included technology is far ahead of what it used to be. Passenger space is about the same, but the overall feel is of a much higher tier midsize sedan.
The chassis is a modified Alfa Romeo platform also used in the Dodge Dart. It's a capable foundation around which you can build a four or six cylinder engine. The 2.4-liter Tigershark engine produces 184 hp and 173 lb-ft of torque. The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 produces 295 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels or all wheels as an option on the V6. A smooth and efficient nine-speed transmission is now standard.
The 2015 Chrysler 200 has four trim levels, LX, Limited, 200S and 200C. The 200 LX offers 17 inch steel wheels, air conditioning, power accessories, cloth interior, keyless entry, LED interior lighting, Uconnect with 3 inch display, auto lighting, LED taillights and a four speaker audio system. The Limited trim adds 17 inch aluminum wheels, Bluetooth, upgraded audio and a 5 inch touchscreen.
The 200S adds 18 inch aluminum wheels, heated seats, leather steering wheel, heated exterior mirrors, leather interior, sports seats, sports suspension, paddle shifters, acoustic glass, dual exhausts and fog lights.
The range-topping 200C adds remote start, dual zone climate control, leather interior, power front seats, 7 inch touchscreen, garage door opener, reversing camera and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
The 2015 Chrysler 200 is a welcome departure from what was becoming a dated platform. The new version is so much better it's almost hard to believe. We think it's ready to take on the best in the midsize pack and come out on top!
